MMarlaina Read is an emerging artist who lives and practices in Sydney. In the past, her work has been informed by concepts of anxiety, performance, everyday rituals, intimacy, travel and the sublime.
Working primarily with photographs, projection, film and installation, Marlaina is currently exploring mnemonic and physical manifestations of light and water within a photographic realm - the obscured, the personal, and ideas of inertia in relation to our perception of light.
As well as many parts of Australia, she has also lived and studied in Berlin. Marlaina lives in a nice apartment with her partner and is currently working on her Masters of Fine Art research project & is trying hard to get a solo exhibition together for 2008.
